Former Twitter CEO sees Bitcoin reaching $1 million by 2030
Jack Dorsey, former Twitter CEO and prominent crypto advocate, believes that the price of Bitcoin could soar past $1 million by the end of 2030. This ambitious prediction aligns with similar forecasts from other industry leaders like Cathie Wood of Ark Invest, who envisions Bitcoin reaching $1.5 million in the same timeframe.
In a recent interview with Pirate Wires, Dorsey stated, "I don’t know. Over… at least a million. I do think it hits that number and goes beyond." His fascination with Bitcoin extends beyond its price; he is captivated by the ecosystem and the collaborative effort behind it. "The most amazing thing about Bitcoin, apart from the founding story, is anyone who works on it, or gets paid in it, or buys it for themselves—everyone who puts any effort in to make it better—is making the entire ecosystem better, which makes the price go up," he explained.
Dorsey’s bullish outlook on Bitcoin isn’t without precedent. The cryptocurrency’s current price hovers around $60,886, but several industry experts share his optimism. Cathie Wood has even taken it a step further, predicting that Bitcoin could reach $1.5 million by 2030. Such predictions reflect the growing confidence in Bitcoin’s potential to revolutionize the financial landscape.
Since stepping down as Twitter’s CEO in 2021, Dorsey has dedicated himself to the crypto industry. In 2019, he supported the launch of BlueSky, a social media startup aiming to create a decentralized platform. However, Dorsey recently stepped away from BlueSky to pursue his vision of decentralized social media with Nostr.
Dorsey also founded Square in 2009, a financial services company that he rebranded to Block in 2021 to reflect his growing interest in blockchain technology. Under his leadership, Block has become a significant player in the crypto space, further cementing Dorsey’s influence in the industry.
